The IWF-TN has paid 150.00 plus 10.00 an hour for a monitor to rent the armory both Cookeville and Crossville for 13 years. Since our brave men have gone to Iraq new people are in charge. They now want to charge the 150.00 rent, plus 15.00 an hour for the monitor plus an additional 150.00 for electric, water, janitoral supplies, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper. There reasoning is they had to pay 300.00 for a small metal trashcan that you can get for 20.00 or less at officemax. That is 300.00 of your tax money wasted. Plus with the additional fees the IWF-TN will have to raise ticket prices or go out of business. This is the reason why there are rumors of the IWF-TN shutting down. Its not the IWF but the Armory and these " extra charges " We have wrestled at both armorys Cookeville and Crossville for 13 years there has never been a problem caused by us that wasn't taken care of. HELP THE IWF-TN LIVE ON Use the information below to contact elected officials. Copy this post. Find out why the armory paid 300.00 for a trash can and why we are being charged this extra money. G.M. thank you for all the info. Now let's band together as the IWF family has always done and contact the representatives. If you don't take the time now, don't complain later that all you have is time on Saturday nights without wrestling. The Mom

We are working on a couple of schools, community centers, and buildings in Livingston, Cookeville, Crossville but everyone lets get our homes at the Cookeville and Crossville Armory back at a price we can afford, don't let someone who isn't a wrestling fan take away what you love

Paul is telling the truth about all of this. We (Paul and I) went to the Armory Tuesday to make sure about the next show there and the Col. told us about the raises and what they paid for a small waste paper basket,my chin dropped at that moment. We tried to talk to him,but he didn't want to talk. Well with all your help, he will hear us. We have done a lot of good with all the benfits that we have done, but paying these rates,we can't do anymore.

Tom, I hope you didn't think that I questioned Paul's integrity. I was just suggesting those questions to present to the armory to see what response they had for him. I know that you, Paul and Bernie are trying hard to find somewhere else, it is armory that p***** me off. You know I am a HUGH supporter of IWF. You have supported Joseph and whoever is good to him I'll will always help. You know I have volunteered many time to help you & Paul, without compensation. I have defended rumors, worked the fans, helped with story lines on the board to keep interest up. I'm sorry you thought that I would think badly of any of you.

I think what Tom was implying is everyone finds it hard to believe that 1. Anyone would pay 300.00 for a small trashcan in these hard economic times of cutbacks, etc.
2. That anyplace with any business sense would charge rent, plus a fee for utilities, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper.
We all appreciate our military personel that defend our country and work so hard to keep us safe, I am a vetern as is every member of my family.
This situation should not be a reflection on the armory as a whole but on one man who for whatever reason has acted in an unbusinesslike manner and wasted our precious tax dollars.
We need everyone to contact the elected officials and state our cause and also ask why anyone would pay so much for a trashcan when everyone is cutting back.

Many possible Venues such as Cookeville Community Center Monterey Community Center Any building connected with the college
are closed to wrestling due to actions of others, these actions include bad check, unpaid for damage, and cocaine found in locker rooms after the show. Not to mention the historical riot that took place in Livingston Community Center long before the IWF was even around.
So there are many places that won't even talk to us. While everyone is checking on possible venues and possibly a new home like we had at the house of pain, Remember these basic facts
It has to have at least fifteen to twenty feet floor to ceiling clearance. It must have two bathrooms, It must be able to fit 200 to 300 people ( ok I am being optimistic ) it must have areas for a kitchen, and dressing rooms. It must also have two doors on opposite sides of the building ( fire code ).
And it must be affordable.
While you are looking email, write, call, your elected officials and make sure you mention that 300.00 trashcan and why it is so important to have wrestling here in Cookeville. Many big WWE stars got that start here in Cookeville many in buildings we are no longer allowed in for reasons not our fault

Honestly this entire thing has me worried a little. IWF-Tn looking for other places to set up shop! And ticket prices may have to be raised.......I do think that paying 300.00 for a trash can is absolutely absurd and requiring the IWF to pay for extra things is also unheard of.......I for one will be contacting the elected officials about this matter! Because some of us just can't afford a raise in ticket prices nor can we afford to drive to other counties.....(hence why I never come to the Crossville events)Unless I am sick or don't have the funds....I usually try to make it out to the Cookeville events......I find it to be theraputic for me.....I'm able to escape everyday life for a few hours......I really hope that something can be worked out at the Cookeville NGA......or that IWF-Tn can find a new place in Cookeville to run their monthly gigs....Let's all band together at this crucial time and save our wrestling home......
